myth tells of Selene, goddess of the moon, and her love for a young shepherd, Endymion. He looked raptly at the moon and her gaze followed it to the sky, every night before falling asleep, he called her and begged to join him. Selene felt that look on her and the wind of her words. She therefore decided to join him and penetrated with her rays into the cave where the boy fell asleep. Selene fell in love with it instantly. He was so beautiful that it seemed unbearable to the goddess that she could change, that old age could undermine that perfection of hers. For this reason, she begged Zeus to preserve him as he was, protect him from change. Zeus answered his prayer on the condition that Endymion would sleep an eternal sleep. And so Endymion remained eternally young and beautiful, unchanged in his sleep. Every time Selene disappears behind Mount Latmo, she goes to find her lover sleeping in a cave. In my opinion, this myth is very current and teaches us that change (even that of the body, over the years) is necessary for the realization of life itself. The myth of eternal youth and of always remaining the same risks making us live a dormant life... I thank the actor and performer Daniele Fedeli for acting as my model (I loved working with him, having real actors as models is a turning point)
