Entwined III Painting

This is an oil painting sketch I did in preparation for a larger piece of work. It is painted on prepared oil painting paper so can be mounted on board and framed traditionally. Due to the nature of it being a sketch the paper may not be cut perfectly straight and there are imperfections in the finish. You get a truly authentic and inspired sketch painting that wasn't necessarily painted to sell...I just happened to completely love this one when it was finished! The background was painted in iridescent copper and this shows through in some places. The colour is slightly more saturated and warm than can be seen in the photo. I have tried to photograph this painting possibly 100 times and I can not get it right! Personally I think it looks better in person than in the photo...fingers crossed I am right! It is based on Camille Claudel's sculpture, The Waltz, a sculpture I never tire of looking at for its emotion and movement. This painting will come signed and varnished.
