Art Description

Painting: Oil, Graphite, Chalk on Wood, Other.

The Painting presented here is about the life at a bus stop in Qingdao, my beautiful place at the Chinese Sea. I spent an afternoon there indulging my wait letting the buses go.

There is a sort of permanence in the ritual of waiting, entering, departing justifying the way I paint.

In company with the boys watching, the wise, over-patient sutlers, and the never-changing crowd of those waiting comes to terms with himself.

The painting has a very special support, for it's is carried out on an old sandwich door, thoroughly prepared for painting by my favorite joiner. You see it's history on it's reverse side.
