Andrzej Korzec was born in Żary, Poland in 1959. He studied painting under Professor Jan Szancenbach at Academy of Fine Art in Krakow, Poland, receiving a diploma in 1989. From 1996-2002 he served as the President of Association of Polish Visual Artists. He inaugurated the cycle of exhibitions "By Quill and Brush around Rzeszów". He also inaugurated the International Art Residencies of Painting and Sculpture, known as "Rakszawa" and "Orzechówka". He has taken part in many plein air painting art residencies and exhibitions in all across Europe, North America and Asia. He is a member of the Society of the Friends of Fine Arts in Przemysl, Poland. In 2006 he participated in the Polish-French project "The Beauty of Nature" in Les Arcys, Volgre (France). He was a stipend-holder of the Ministry of Culture and the Arts (1996/97) and was invited for a half-year long art residency by the Mayor of Klagenfurt, Austria (2002). He has been honored in a lot of art contests; he received a Decoration of Honor “Meritorious for Polish Culture”, Medal for "Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis" and The City of Rzeszow Award in the field of culture and art for his artistic achievements. For over 35 years he was a drawing and painting teacher in the Art High School. Currently his studio is located in Wroclaw, Poland. His inspiration comes from the beauty of nature, human and imagination. He loves to experiment despite painting for over 40 years! He has a huge respect for skills and sensitivity and very high work ethics. He loves to paint both in the studio and en plein air, in the city or surrounded by nature.
