Sue is an Adelaide artist, who primarily creates playful abstract paintings in watercolour, oil and mixed media. Having successfully exhibited in Australia and internationally, Sue recently won the Adelaide Fringe Poster award for 2012 and was a Finalist in the 2010 SALA Advertiser Business SA Contemporary Art Prize. She is also the winner of the 2008 Winsor and Newton National watercolour prize. She lectures in the School of Art, Architecture and Design at the University of South Australia, where she completed her Degree in Visual Communication at the beginning of her thirty year career. Sue is an intuitive painter and builds a visual language, which draws inspiration from the symbols and vibrancy of painters Miro and Basquiat and the Modernist era. She enjoys the liberation that abstraction offers and loves sharing her visual memory with her audience via a wide collection of work. Sue paints from her studio in Adelaide and is an active member of Adelaide's vibrant arts community, as a lecturer at the University of South Australia and was a guest judge for the Fringe Visual Arts and Design Program for 2012. Her work is held in numerous private collections nationally and internationally.
