This work is part of my Impression Series, which was created by up-cycling discarded produce bags to create a textured impression on the surface of each painting. At its heart, my work is about transformation -- about embracing my process and continuing to experiment with color, scale, and texture. Creating art has transformed how I see myself and the world around me. It has allowed me the freedom to take risks and to embrace chance.

By showcasing the beauty that can be created from unwanted materials, I hope to inspire others to think more consciously about the need to reduce the creation and consumption of plastic. I believe that art has the power to spark conversations and drive change. I am dedicated to using my talent and passion to raise awareness about the harmful effects that our dependence on single-use-plastic is having on the environment and our bodies. Periodically I need to take a pause from my fight for the environment in order to stave off climate grief. In those moments, I create encaustic monotypes, which I hope bring a bit of joy and beauty into the world.
