"Expanding Places" Painting

My foray into painting emerged as a measure of sanity in response to the isolation and loneliness that enveloped me during the COVID-19 pandemic. What began as an experiment gradually solidified into a daily routine, as my artistic expression became infused with narratives and fictions, where characters left the canvas and began to fill spaces with presences and stories—echoes of a magical realism that permeated my formative years and, two decades later, found a corner where they could take root and materialize, in spaces inhabited by expectant gazes, expressions, and gestures that continue to reveal new nuances day by day. For this reason, my work focuses on individuals with high expressiveness, with whom I have established a connection before deciding to interpret them. I complement them with the negative space in each scene, where this void is used to present an atmosphere of isolation and intimacy that seeks to share a meeting point based on vulnerability.
