ABOUT THE ARTWORK

How can you not want to pay tribute to Frida Kahlo? Painter, free, woman, courageous, strong, creative, spontaneous, wife, in love, alive ... To see and discover his paintings, we discover an extraordinary character. She used vivid and colorful paint to exorcise her pains and demons. Frida talks to me. She encourages me to put more of myself into my paintings, to reveal myself through form and color. It is not always easy to discover oneself in this way. This tribute, I wanted it on a wooden panel, a panel where the frame would be an integral part of the work. A craftsman carpenter created this stand for the occasion. Frida poses, in a very classic way, surrounded by what made her life: animals, her corset, her house "la Casa Azul" in Mexico, earrings bearing the image of the bus that knocked her down and the leitmotif of its existence: Viva la vida! Frida me parle.

French artist living near Paris Drawing and painting have always been with me as well as the certainty that my thoughts, too numerous, had to be laid on the canvas to encumber me a little less. I recently discovered that my brain does not work like everyone else: I am "aphantasy". My brain is blind. It was the revelation: this is why I have always had to paint and draw, I have to make visible what my blind brain cannot show me. I don't visualize any apple, but I can create it.
