Face of Redemption IV Painting

I'm Uweh Edet Edet, born 26th May, 2000, from Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria. A contemporary realistic painter and pen artist based in Uyo, Nigeria. As a child, I displayed signs of innate artistic talent in both drawing and painting, and though I was initially discouraged by my parents to study art, I did not give up on my dreams of becoming an artist. When I was 15, I came 2nd place in a State art competition organized by the Society of Nigerian Artists(SNA), and this really ignited my passion of becoming an artist. My Drawings and paintings are inspired by my life experiences and the environment I find myself at the moment and are greatly influenced by works of masters from the Renaissance and medieval periods, especially Rembrandt, whose use of light, high value contrast and bold composition I imitate in my paintings. I aim to make a universal statement with my paintings, relatable to every individual, irrespective of tribe or race.
