The painter is inspired by all kind of landscapes. He is fantasising, so this landscape doesn't exist in real. He starts to put the horizon place. Can be high or low. The composition is completed by the rest of the elements. Vertical or diagonal. The red accents with paletknife completes the artwork. Balance and harmony are essential. Also the blue grey elements are making next to the contrast of light and dark a contrast in warm and cold colours.

Jan (Wierden 1948). In the beginning he painted how it was teached, in a realistic and impressionistic way. Bit by bit the landscapes lost their horizons and their structure of creating space. More an more his work became expressionistic and abstract. Music, especially classical music is a big source of inspiration. Nowadays he is painting a serie with 'Fantasy Landscapes' so the horizon is back! Jan won together with his partner Laura Rominu the third price in AIAF, the international Art Fair in Amsterdam.
