Shabana Kauser is a British artist residing in the United States, and in the state of Arkansas. She is renowned for her striking portraits and floral oil paintings that explore themes of South Asian representation, and with traditional fabrics. Originally from Surrey, a suburb of London, Shabana lived in Central London. Here she obtained her degree in Business IT and a MSc in Information Management and worked in the corporate world. Her journey took a transformative turn after immigrating to the US, where she discovered her true passion for creating art. Shabana continues to exhibit her work throughout the US in galleries, museums and art fairs. Some of her notable exhibits include Diasha Board Gallery in Dallas, 21c Museum, a solo exhibit at Baker University in Kansas, and Fort Smith Regional Art Museum, AR. In 2025 she was one of 20 artists selected for a juried group show at the New Bedford Art Museum in Massachusetts. She was contracted by Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art for community engagement projects. Shabana has participated in The Other The Art Fair, in Dallas and Chicago for a number of years. She has held formal lectures at various venues, and has been a guest story teller at community events, fostering connections through shared narratives. Shabana attended the University of Arts London, St. Martin’s College in the UK, and also completed the Artist Inc program that is organized by the Mid-American Arts Alliance. She was awarded the Arkansas ‘2023 Individual Artist Fellowship Award’ . That very same year, Shabana completed a sponsored Artist residency at The Medium in Springdale, AR. Shabana has been featured in a number of press releases. Some notable ones include Northwest AR Alive (Emmy nominated ABC TV series) where she had a solo interview, Little Rock Soiree Magazine, Arkansas Times, KUAF Radio, CitiScapes Magazine, Arkansas Arts Scene Blog. Press releases can viewed on the press page. Shabana’s paintings not only captures beauty but narrate the stories of women in her life, inviting viewers to engage with their strength and resilience. Through her art, educational outreach, and community story telling, she inspires others to reflect on their experiences and shared histories.
