ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The third painting of the series with playing Maremma horses. Maremma is a part of Tuscany in Italy. Maremma horses are an old local breed for the cowboys (Butteri) to guard the white longhorned Maremma cattle. They live outdoors and don´t know a stable. Very strong and huge horses. I like to ride them with the butteri to look for the cattle in the Maremma park where they live on large pastures. I like to paint and sketch them from life and sometimes like this scene from my own photos. Oil paint on linen stretched on wooden bars.
