Flicker Painting

It all began with charity auction for girl diagnosed with leukaemia. It's hard to understand what feelings that girl experienced, but this work that I've made, was an attempt. But in some other way than "express leukaemia". I wanted to focus on inner feel when you are experiencing almost near-death condition, when only thing that is left with you is freedom to hope for the end of this, that you'll be alive and well again (or maybe..). That hope is always flickering in that dark of disease that surrounds you. This feel is what I was aiming on. Not that abstract kind of a feel if you think about it, but nevertheless it is not everyday experience for most people. The story ended with unsuccessful organisation of an auction for which this woks was done. But that girl received required amount of money to treat the disease. It was close to me, I've experienced same thing in some points of my life, so it resonated.
