Floor Painting

This piece is part of a series which I call "Dreamlights". As part of the process I trained myself at lucid dreaming in order to focus my attention on the images that occur while dreaming. Over the months of my research I've become interested in the lights and shadows of these dream images. The light in Dreamlights is a fictional yet essential one, its appearance is ethereal and haunting, there seems to be a nebulous veil enveloping these spaces. The places I've found during the dream state are reconstructed from actual rooms and landscapes from life. Dreamlights is my attempt at showing these experiences through painting. I consider the series to be my most personal thus far. "Floor" displays that light-shadow relationship in an ambiguous way. Whether the viewer is tiny or the rays of light are monumental is not clear, as was the case within the dream.
