About The Artwork

When I was little I loved to paint with watercolors. It gave me a sense of freedom, where every drop of ink on the paper revealed a new form regardless of whether the practice was the same. At that time I also watched my grandparents create art with needles and threads. They taught me somehow to do the same. Inspired by nature and excited to approach the freedom I felt in my childhood, I decided to explore the universe of art and put all the manual practices I know into one piece of art. My mixed media artwork with real dried flowers glued on a sheet of watercolored high-quality paper and a final touch of embroidered lines is a unique piece of art. COLORS ↝ Watercolor: Scarlet Red + Golden Yellow + Shiny Yellow + Jade Green. ↝ Flowers: Cadmium Red + Deep Red. ↝ Floss: Jade Green. CARE INSTRUCTIONS To keep the colors of the flowers bright, avoid direct sunlight. SPECIAL NOTES ↝ This art is handmade. ↝ This is an original artwork. ↝ I use real flowers that are dehydrated and not artificially colored. ↝ This is not a print. ↝ The frame is not included. If you want the frame included, check availability with the artist. ↝ I ship worldwide from Asheville, NC (USA).

I was raised in a small city in the South of Brazil by people who believe that protecting and restoring our forests is the right path to guaranteeing our future. My parents taught me how to be resilient and believe in a better world. Their work inspired me to study Biology and get a Master's of Science Degree in Botany. However, it was my connection with nature that inspired me to pursue art as a form of awakening and to reconnect my inner soul with mother Earth. I am a self-taught artist. I first watercolored in my childhood, watching my parents take beautiful portraits of nature and my grandparents create art with needles and threads. Today I use my art to approach the freedom I felt in my childhood.
