Flute Player Painting

As long as I can remember myself, I was always drawn to art. As a small child I loved to draw people and animals on sheets of paper. For me it was a way of self-expression, storytelling and using my creativity. At one point I found a whole stack of reproductions of many famous European artists in my grandmother’s wardrobe. I used to look through those papers and try to figure out who were the subjects of these paintings and what were the stories artists were trying to convey. For me those paintings were a way for learning about life long time ago. While art was always a part of my life I didn’t get into painting until recently. While staying at home with my children, I picked up a brush and started playing around with acrylics. After trying a variety of mediums, I ended up loving oil which is now my primary medium. I draw my inspirations from traveling and observing life around me. While I paint variety of subjects, my favorite subject is people. Every person has a story and I love to be able to interpret those stories through my portraiture work.
