This is an abstract encaustic and mixed media painting based loosely on my laundry line series. It is an abstract landscape and feels light and summery.

Amy Weil is an abstract mixed media painter best known for her densely layered and visceral encaustic work that references the grid. Amy’s signature vocabulary includes circular and organic shapes that challenge the geometry of the grid creating a playful dialogue. The mystery of what you cannot fully see or know is also a recurring theme in Amy’s work and she often creates windows and portals in her work where images are playing peek a boo with the viewer. The act of creating a work by fusing, scraping and incising into the wax becomes a meditation for Amy. This direct and intuitive process enables Amy to create work that is emotionally charged and the end result is always a surprise. Her work is a dance between her intention and the process itself. Amy Weil has an MFA from the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was awarded a scholarship to the Yale Summer school in Norfolk Connecticut. Her work is in corporate and private collections in the United States, Canada and Europe.
