Fragment Flow Painting

This painting was inspired by water, ripples and reflections on a late summer afternoon. I was hiking in Yosemite National Park when I came across the Tuolomne River and was excited by the ripple patterns and warm and cool colors refecting off the water. The painting creates a feeling of calm and contemplation as the viewer enters the painting and starts reflecting on their own connections and interpretations of water. The painting is oil on deep canvas with the use of large palette knife and brushes to create the mix of colors and textures. Brilliant colors is created with the use of resin and layering of paint. This is an original one of a kind oil painting on deep stretched canvas with heavy duty hardware and wire on the back. The sides are painted so it does not need a frame.
