The “Diptych of Melun” a painting made by Jean Fouquet around 1450 constitutes the base of a series of 5 oil paintings. The original right panel is as though deconstructed and set up again in space. In 1989 I made the first set up of “Hommage à Jean Fouquet” (private collection, France). In 2011 I was commissioned to make the same painting with some references to the Italian porcelain service designed by Emilio Bergamin (private collection The Netherlands). This third, last version (2019) “Fragmentation: Agnès Sorel, the Angels and the Child” is made of high quality pigments and oil paint. Only one element of Emilio Bergamin’s motif has been kept.
