ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The piece is an Appropriation of a painting by one of my favourite Landscape painters, Tom Thomson. Thomson's 'Frasers Lodge is a small Plein air study a little smaller than an A4 sheet of paper, for my version I wanted to stay true to the image but scale everything up. I was especially excited to replicate the brushwork with much bigger brushes and fluid, expressive mark-making. **This Painting is Artist Quality oil paint on acrylic primed linen over a pinewood stretcher. Finished with two layers of homemade damar varnish
