ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The girl's name is Alya. And she has a best friend, a fish. Yes, that's right, a fish. The fish can talk, give advice and whistle songs. Every girl from this fairy tale has her own fish. And this fish doesn't like swimming at all. It is even afraid of water. But it likes to warm its flanks in the sun and ride over Alya, curling up around her neck. And it not cold at all, as you might think. It's warm, a bit rough and smells like watermelon.) A wise fish that is passed from one female hands to another. From thin, cool hands dried out by old age to warm, soft pink palms. A friend destined to outlive many human lives. Rejoicing at the baby's tinkling laughter, watching the first love, first disappointment of love. Putting the girl’s broken heart together and watching love settling in the soul again. And further, warming a softly sniffing baby with its warm rough side. Living another human life over and over again. Protecting, loving, laughing, mourning the pain of loss together. Bidding farewell. Living through parting forever and the aching pain in the depths of its fishy heart resembling of a ripe strawberry. Her name is Alya. And she has her fish. Her friend. A friend who will live its life with her from the beginning to her last breath. A fish that is not afraid to love from the beginning of its nose to the very last flake. Heartily and immeasurably. Painting: Friendship. Watercolor

EXPERIENCE 2007- 2015 - Project development manager at women's clothing wholesale company: purchase of clothing collections and its promotion. 2008- 2014 - Lecturer at Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University. Painting came into my life along with a personal tragedy. My baby son was born prematurely, due to which he lost his eyesight and acquired numerous health issues. It was then when I picked up a paint brush. Thus, at the age of 32, I discovered the gift of drawing in myself. My son and I went through 16 surgeries in the first 6 years of his life. During that time, I made over 100 paintings. I managed to promote my blog on Instagram from scratch reaching over 9,000 followers. Today, I cannot help but paint. The stories that I call "fairy tales" keep popping up in my imagination - I barely make time to transfer them to the canvas. Before, I had no idea that despite what is happening in the real world, it is in the artist’s power to create worlds of his or her own by means of sheer creativity. And there can be as many of those worlds as the artist desires. Such worlds are capable of curing not only the artist, but other people as well. My artistic reality is free from stereotypes, borders, and limitations. I paint characters with bottomless eyes, reflecting in their pain of the past, inner strength of the present and faith in the future. I write a kind-hearted fairy tale with a philosophical undertone to accompany each painting. Through the fairy tales, I enhance the nature of my characters and give emotions, touching the soul of the viewer. My favorite paints are watercolor and acrylic. For me, watercolor is like a lace pattern design, each layer of which resembles the petals of a delicate flower. Watercolor is unforgiving for mistakes. This is what constitutes its specialty and strength. Acrylic is a way for me to communicate with my subconscious. I paint images that form out of the colored spots of paint layers on the canvas. I never come up with a subject beforehand, completely confiding in the creative flow. Therefore, the paintings turn out to be strikingly honest, whereas sincere art will always find a way to the heart of the viewer.
