My fascination lies in discovering new images and creating abstract compositions (syntheses). After relocating from Athens to Amsterdam, I completed my studies at the Dutch Art Academy in 1994. Two years later, I received a stipend from the Mondriaan Fund (formerly the Fund for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture). Since then, I have lived and worked in Amsterdam, exhibiting regularly. My work is included in private collections and cultural institutions both in the Netherlands and abroad. My paintings are inspired by color, bright light, and nature; landscapes, organic forms and their evolution, as well as abstract compositions with floral or geometric elements. A central focus is the balance between color and light, which shapes the development of each form. Some works hint at subtle sensuality, while others evoke landscapes or organic matter. Earlier works often featured large volumes in natural settings. In recent years, I’ve focused on a series exploring fragments of nature and organic shapes; a personal search for new imagery. Each painting is a poetic journey from blank canvas to final image, guided by intuition and the process itself. I allow the image itself to guide me, and I welcome the surprises that emerge. Each painting becomes a separate investigation through countless possibilities. The works shown here are oil paintings built up in layers, where color, structure, and transparency play a vital role.
