About The Artwork
I was inspired to make Galatxo, after moving to a remote village on the edge of the Traumentanas, where Galatxo (the mountain) was visible for many kilometres. The idea for making it a topographical representation, as well as a 'cuado doblado' (a folded painting) came from the many perspectives that Galatxo provides to all that see it. Galatxo (the painting) is in reality, three pictures. One picture is see from the front, but when the viewer sees it from the left side-front, the picture is different. If the viewer walks to the right side-front, the picture is different still. Each perspective offers a different view of Galatxo.
