Art Description

Painting: Oil, Graphite, Chalk on Wood.

There is an old wise man living not far from my home, from a former nobleman's family. When his wife makes a good green tea he will speak about his 40 years as an ink drawing artist in Japan. Influencing his speech is, opening a world of it's own in our rural circumstances.

It was after a long talk about endlessness and healing when I opened the artwork featured here. It is about an old garden in my neighborhood and some kind of concentrated Japanese serenity, too.

The work corresponds to my painting "Branching Off into Healing Grey", see They are two of a trilogy about the healing powers of gardening.

It is real panel painting, plywood on a backing frame of pine-wood. The link mentioned above also leads to a backside photo featuring the expectable materiality of this panel, too. Ready to hang.
