ABOUT THE ARTWORK
One bright, gentle morning, during a visit to the zoo in Blijdorp, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, I was struck by the soft, dreamy glance of this magnificent long-necked beauty. I instantly felt that (t)his expression would make a great painting. The painting comes without a frame. I always paint the sides of the work, so that the scene carries over to the edges. This way there is the option of not framing. I also wire my paintings. Thus, the work is totally finished and ready to hang.
