One of a series of paintings on clear primed raw linen with garden birds. This particular piece is stretched with Belgian linen on European stretcher bars which wraps around the 2cm deep edges and then triple clear primed. The Goldfinch was painted in PH Martin inks for lightfastness with gilded gold leaf ornamental rose work. Suitable to hang as it is or as a set with other pieces from the collection. This is a light shade of linen and as its a natural product it will evenly fade out over a long period of time depending on how much light it receives. A shaded home spot will maintain its colour. This linen batch matches the 'Pair of Blue Tits', Grosbeak, Dickcissel and more. I can send photos of the paintings next to one another if you want to check the linen colouration. Each art piece has a unique Hologram to identify it in my Art Back Catalogue.

My name is Hannah Bruce. I am a professional and award-winning artist based in Woking, England. Since 2002, I have been creating original artwork with mediums such as oils, acrylics, resins, ink, and pastels, and have sold my work all over the world. If you are interested in commissioning me to create something specifically for you then please let me know. Background Prior to becoming a professional artist in 2014, I was a Surrey-based teacher of Art and Design for over 13 years. I studied Fine Art and English at the University of Wales and completed my postgraduate certificate in education at the University of Cambridge. I was chairperson for the Woking Art Society from 2015 to 2018 and continue to participate in the committee creating exhibitions and pop-up shop events every year. I really enjoy painting the outdoors, in particular, the art of plein air painting, which comes from the French “en plein air,” meaning “in the open air.” This practice involves leaving the studio behind and painting landscapes on-site. I have helped to set up and collaborate with the Surrey Hills Plein Air Painters and have participated in events such as Norfolk and Norwich Paint Outs, Cambridge Paint Out, A Brush with the Broads, Art in the Open Ireland, London Plein Air Warriors, and occasionally with the Wapping Group and Royal Oil Institute friends. I have demonstrated for over five years with the Surrey Contemporary Art Fairs. I have been an active member of the Family Network Surrey since its inception, winning Business Networker of the Year at a national awards recognition event in Birmingham. What can I say? I’m a very social person.
