About The Artwork
The plum tree glasses worn by cranes are luxurious and even heavy. To me, a crane that feels like an ordinary image means an ordinary woman. Ordinary women sometimes want to be free, fancy, and luxurious. I wanted to express another desire of women in persona through cranes. I drew my work with traditional paint on Korean paper. Hanji is a traditional Korean paper made from the bark of a plant called Dak, so it is very tough and strong. Gold dust sprinkled everywhere makes the cranes shine more beautifully. You can see the calm, deep traditional colors painted on hanji.
