ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a wilderness fantasia with warm colors and swirling rock patterns. Totally inspired by the Canadian Shield bedrock in the northern Canadian wilderness in the midst of Canadian fall colors... but...can you feel the heat? The sketch I had done onsite spoke to me so vividly that I picked out the broadest vista of canvas that I could find in my studio. I worked from my shoulder and let the brush take over, mixing colors and sweeping them onto the canvas in expressive brushstrokes.
