Close up of shirt
This piece was inspired by the current economic crisis faced in my country and how we can all be grateful for the little things we have. How the small things that make up our lives are what truly matter and in times if need where we turn to for joy. The original image is by a dear friend of mine and I instantly knew I wanted to paint it.
I tried to use brushstrokes to gently guide your eye across the canvas. Ares of focus and softer areas which are less precise in their brushwork. The shirt was painted with John Singer Sargent in mind, his effortless depictions of fashion and cloth.
