Guernica Painting

Fine figurative painting had always been the most challenging genre for an artist. Steeped in tradition and history, one has to meticulously produce work that is both refreshing and dynamic in order to set themselves apart from scores of others of days gone by. When viewing my art one may recognise the graceful influence of some Old Masters of centuries past. My use of sfumato and chiaroscuro echo those seen in the work of David, Ingres and Bouguereau. By following a similar approach to composition and structure, and by adding my own treatment of light and shadow; combined with classical techniques, I develop my own distinctive and individualistic contemporary style of oil paintings.
