HANA COAST LINE Painting

9/20/43 ,Milwaukee, Wis. I am a watercolor painter. I live in Hana Maui.To view the many works of Robert Kaczmarek, and there are many, is akin to taking a virtual journey around a whimsical world. An abstract world populated by colorful individuals often reminding us of people we know, or might have imagined, in places we might have been, or dreamed of going to. The faces pop out at you, smiling, awkward, blissful, confused. Solitary figures who present themselves to you in an innocent yet flamboyant exposure of their depth,or couples or groups of three which interact in their imposed world with each other in a balanced scape of lines and swirls.More often than not they are adorned with jewelry and tattoo's, and always, conceived of in bright colors. The viewer is never quite sure as to where Robert has taken us, or who we have been introduced to, but somehow we are vaguely familiar with his subjects, and thus,relaxed with their company.We are never intimidated by them,while allowing ourselves the luxury of a good long stare. Robert works with a wide variety of super bright colors.He incorporates pen and ink, with pencil, on Arches French archival rag paper. Robert has been painting with one eye since 1996,after losing it to Toxoplasmosis.
