Born in Scotland Andrew attended an Art college in northern Nottinghamshire and then achieved a degree at the now known Cambridge School of Art. Whereupon Andrew was trained in painting from a Camberwell painter there. Andrew has travelled expansively throughout the world. From volunteering in the 'third world', Scandinavia, The United States and Russia, the Far East and Europe. Gathering knowledge and studying Art History within the different cultures of the countries he has experienced. Different philosophies applied to the practice of painting and how our experiences as human beings reflect in painting particularly. Andrew has always felt a strong connection with the landscape genre in painting. He applies his life experiences and knowledge of how a variety of cultures interpret the landscape in painting into his own work. Andrew's paintings are in private collections around the world including The United States, Japan, United Kingdom, Ukraine and Russia to name but a few.
