Healing sadness Painting

When quarantine happened, I moved to my parents’ house in the countryside near small town Zvenigorod. And the one thing what was keeping me in touch with reality (except my family) was nature, which’s been surrounding me all the months I’ve spent their. One day I was walking down the stream again to paint while listening to the interview of David Hockney. He said that one of the most inspiring artist for him was and still is Van Gogh simply because of his mindset. How uniquely he could’ve managed to capture environment in his work. At that moment I’ve decided to focus more on spring forest and all the blooming around me. And the one thing that really caught my eye was bright blue and orange mushrooms growing out of trees. I’ve tried to combine my mixed feelings with the static and sustainability of these “creatures” and show that we are still strongly tied with the nature up to these day.
