ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a theme I submitted to a Kroger Art Committee for an artwork to beautify the newly re-opened Kroger store at Holiday Manor. My submission was chosen and the artwork is now at a permanent display at the store's entrance. The balloons represent Louisville's annual hot-air baloon race, which is part of the Kentucky Derby Festival, the most famous 2-minutes in sports, well, at least in Louisville, KY. The urban scrape beneath the balloons reflects the actual architecture of Holiday Manor neighborhood, where the store is located, to bring in a local flavor to shoppers and other visitors.
