ABOUT THIS PAINTING The hummingbird is known mainly for its tiny dimensions and for its ability to hover in mid-air. Its wings flutter at a speed of 90 times per second. I personally really love this bird, because it relaxes me and so I decided to paint it. Delicate pastel colors, dynamic brushstrokes in the direction of the wings, and abstract, black splatter that balances out the colors of the painting, creates beautiful opposition on the white canvas and adds to the piece an abstract, uncontrolled dimension against the painting’s order and organization – all of these together create a special vision of a delicate, unique hummingbird.
