About The Artwork

Original painting depicting a purple hydrangea flower on a stem with green leaves, made in watercolor in the style of a botanical illustration. This is not a print! Every living creature has a Light and Dark side. It is generally accepted that the light side is good and the dark side bad. But this is not so, there is no black and white, everything flows from light to dark and back. This hydrangea flower (or Japanese rose) has a sister, the Light Sister. Both paintings are a continuation and beginning of each other, and if they are bought by different people, this will bring some drama to their story. The illustration is made on high-quality watercolor paper 300 gr. The work is provided without a frame. This gives more options depending on the style of the interior. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the color gamut of the original image may slightly differ from what you see on your digital device.

My name is Natalia Maksakova. I was born and raised and live in Russia, in the Kaliningrad region. This area is located on the coast of the Baltic Sea. The beautiful nature of our region, the seashore could not leave me indifferent to the beauty. From early childhood, I studied nature and could spend hours looking at flowers. This led me to botanical illustration. I have mastered many materials for writing my paintings. These are oil paints, acrylic paints, pencils, markers and other tools. But now I am working in watercolor technique. In my opinion, this is the most difficult technique. But the result is always worth the effort. At this time, I draw a botanical illustration and make patterns from my drawings. These patterns and designs are used in many areas: they are printed on fabrics, on postcards, in books, magazines, newspapers. I also paint political cartoons, paintings with deep meaning and picturesque paintings. I suggest purchasing the originals of many reproduced illustrations.
