Michèle Cade Khelifi was born in London in 1980, from a multicultural background. She began her artistic journey within her father’s silkscreen textile factory. Here, she delved into the world of inks, daring colour combinations, and the intricate layering of shapes and patterns, catering to clients in the fashion industry. After graduating from the prestigious art colleges, Camberwell & Central St Martin’s in London, she embarked on a successful career in branding. While her years as a designer honed her skills in storytelling, colour harmony, and aesthetics, her deepest passion always lay in the realm of painting. Her 12 years living in Hong Kong, surrounded by the graceful motions of Chinese calligraphy definitely left an indelible mark. What resonated with Michèle was not the content of the characters, but the act of writing itself - the intense focus, the rythmic dance of brush and ink, the meditative state of creation. The influence of music on Michèle’s art extends beyond mere aesthetics; it becomes a dynamic exchange of energies. The melodies she listens to become the muse for her brush, guiding the ebb and flow of her creative expression. The result is a visual narrative that not only reflects the external beauty of her surroundings but also encapsulates the unseen harmony of sound and emotion.
