This is one of a series of 4 encaustic, in which I was experimenting with the feel and methods of encaustic wax vs my usual medium of acrylic paint. A thoroughly enjoyable experience! Encaustic painting is a technique that goes back to ancient civilizations. This piece is framed with a white matte and black wood frame. The art itself measures 8 x 8" with the overall frame measuring 12 x 12".

I am an artist from Nashville, Tennessee. I have been working in the music business, touring the world with musicians for the last 30 years. The extensive travel experience has provided endless inspiration for my art from all corners of the globe. While painting is my favorite form of expression, I also am an avid photographer and still dabble often in graphic design. I am a founding member of a small group of abstract painters called Contemporary Collective of Nashville. I have also been a member of the Nashville Artist Guild for several years. My work is featured in a few regional galleries, and has made its way into homes and corporate collections around the USA, Europe and Australia. Nearly every painting I do is on 1.5" deep gallery-wrapped canvas. The edges are always painted with a neutral color to compliment the painting, so they can be hung with or without a frame.
