"Immortality of the Gods" draws upon the profound mythology of ancient Greece, a timeless wellspring of inspiration for artists across centuries. The enduring narratives of Greek deities, with their divine qualities and human-like complexities, provide the foundational inspiration for this painting. Their stories of love, power, and struggle serve as a rich tapestry upon which this artistic exploration is woven. The work is deeply influenced by the captivating tales of Greek gods and goddesses, including Zeus, Hera, Athena, Apollo, and others. Their enduring presence in human culture and imagination serves as a driving force behind the creation of this piece. Additionally, the universal themes of immortality and the divine spark within humanity inspire reflection and contemplation. My aspiration for viewers of "Immortality of the Gods" is to be transported into a realm of wonder and contemplation. Through the evocative imagery and intricate details of the painting, I aim to instill a sense of reverence for the mythical figures depicted. I hope viewers will ponder the timeless themes of mortality, transcendence, and the enduring power of myth. Ultimately, I seek to provoke thought and spark dialogue about the profound impact of ancient mythology on human culture and consciousness.

Born in 1970 in a family of ceramic artists, Georgian painter Otar Imerlishvili is known for his whimsical scenes that depict daily life through the colored lens of innocence and wonder. Travel, love-making, bathing, dining and dancing are all part of the visual narrative. In some paintings, grassy grounds and multistoried houses are set on top of each other – cities become towers. Often they simply turn into men – one city meets another city in a friendly handshake. “From sublime dreamscapes to idiosyncratic family portraits and detailed images inspired by my childhood, my work is both contemporary and symbolic of the traditions of Georgian life. My main inspiration is the set of stories from my own life – my childhood and the everyday being of my city, Tbilisi,” says the artist. Born on 2nd January 1970
