This painting is made of Japanese paper and Japanese sumi ink. The artist, KAGUYAMA, was born in Japan and raised with a Catholic education. Therefore, she began to paint Catholic-related works using materials used in Japanese painting. During her school years, she studied Suiboku-ga (ink painting) and traditional Japanese painting methods. Later, she mastered her own unique way of using sumi ink and succeeded in creating an unprecedented Suiboku-ga (ink painting). The beautiful black-and-white gradation of this painting takes the viewer into another world.

Ame Kaguyama Was born in Tokyo in 1989 and raised in a Catholic mission school from the age of 3 to 18. Went on to study oil painting at Tokyo National University of the Arts, but felt that "as long as I was born with a Japanese body, I could not become an artist without knowing about Japanese art," so after graduation, studied the basics of Japanese painting at BIGAKKO's Cho-Nihonga seminar while studying Japanese dance and Noh theater. After much trial and error, around 2021, began to feel a strong affinity for KUMOHADA pulp paper and SUMI ink. Kaguyama's strongest interest is to depict Christian art on indigenous Japanese paper and SUMI ink.
