ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Rothko's color field paintings and other intuitively made abstract and non-representational art work had always struck me in a strong way. I wanted to achieve the same emotion and feeling in my painting practice that I experienced when viewing such works. After attending university, I struggled for years moving from a representational to an abstract/non-objective style of painting. It did not come naturally to me. I ended up making a lot of paintings that resembled Rothko's color fields. Once I began painting full time, being able to focus on painting 24/7 allowed me to shift my mindset and achieve the results I was seeking. Oranges were once a popular subject matter in my paintings and photographs, and this painting represents abstracting or "ironing" out the representational objects and ultimately creating successful abstract paintings.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My current art practice involves experiments in abstraction, and the utilization of color and form in attempts to evoke feelings, emotions and memories, despite the lack of representational imagery. * * * I have wanted to be an artist since I could hold a crayon.  I studied at university and privately with artists and professors such as Louise LeBourgeois, Ivan Brunetti, Bob Thall, Mario Castillo, Tim Ripley, Carol Haliday-McQueen and Corey Postiglione. Each one of them impacted and inspired me in different ways.  Unfortunately, I was kidnapped and held hostage by the corporate world for over 25 years (since the early 90s), and only in 2018 did my captors return me so I could fulfill my creative dreams.
 * * * My work is in national and international collections, and has been exhibited within the United States. * * * In addition to my personal work, I am available for teaching, commercial work and commissions.
