ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Painted of my daughter, Charlotte, 'Irreproachable' depicts that moment in a child's emotions where they are unsure of themselves; perhaps after being reprimanded, or perhaps simply out of shyness or uncertainty. The innocence and hint of fear in Charlotte's posture and expression is enhance by the use of negative space in this composition, displaying the unknown. A white-washed background and the overall demure colour palette emphasise the irreproachability – the innocence – conveyed in this piece.
