About The Artwork
This "Pose" by Marlene Dietrich was the inspiration for Freddie Mercury of Queen to do the same pose for "Bohemian Rhapsody". In this painting I have used Marlene's face and Freddie Mercury's hands as a tribute to them both. It has been painted with good quality oils on quality canvas board. The size of the work is 67 x 50cm and is painted on canvas board. This work is signed and dated for Sep 2021 and is a 'one off' painting. The work has been varnished. On leaving school at 16 my intention was to go to art school on the advice of a local artist, but things took a turn and I spent the next 12 years in the military as a Combat Medic. I still drew and painted during my service and it was a good distraction after some very testing times. I am an artist who works in multi media art projects from Oils, Acrylic. Pencil drawing, Carving, Pewter work. I have been concentrating in Oil painting for a few years and have had nice sales from my work. I learned my art skill through experience. I like to experiment with my work.
