Human body during isolation depicted in speciffic spaces and conditions. The entire cycle of works presented, occurred during and after isolation due to the Corona virus pandemic. Artists are no strangers to isolation; because we consciously retreat into our own inner spaces, physical and mental, in order to create and present our own interpretations of the inner worlds. But isolation has become a common thing to every human being on the planet and has brought with its longings, inner turmoil, an ardent desire for forbidden socialization, both public and intimate. In this cycle, which is still going on, I depict a human body dreaming, napping, longing to meet, paralyzed and closed in physical format of the painting. All works are created in a long process, from several months to even half a year. I paint in the classic way, in a large number of delicate layers, of which there are sometimes fifteen, twenty. Some parts of the picture are painted extremely precisely, photorealistically, and some are blurred, with the lost focus, reduced to its basics. By painting, I find substitute security and comfort, I change the anxiety of the world with a highly aestheticized fantasy.

Foreword to the One-man show "Salllon postisolationis", Vukovar Muncipal Museum, 2020. "... The second part of the isolation opus is presented in large formats that are radically different from the experiences of nature. The motifs of the paintings are female and male nudes set in very unusual relationships that evoke symbolic meanings and allow for an open interpretation by the observer. In the paintings of male nudes, the subconscious tendency to express inner states and desires is obvious. Almost baroque, naturalistic bodies float in an undefined, barely marked space, and realistic body fragments contrast with the volume of flatness and the abstraction of the background. Unlike male sensual nudes, female nudes are painted in Klimtesque style and occasionally Schiele-like deformed, transformed into grotesque and sarcasm provoked by life situations. In this series of works, color is non-descriptive, separate from real experiences and left to imagination and personal interpretation. All tonal transitions range from warm pink to cool purple and thus colorfully connect the works into a single cycle. The use of color in line with the patterns of individual symbolism, without reference to the coloristic experiences of the real world, makes the reflection on works abundant with surreal concepts of expressing the subconscious. The process of creating these images differs significantly from the previous ones both ambientally and temporally. Painting by relying on memory in an intimate workspace, a real painting odyssey of thin layers of color in which the smooth surface of the painting is gradual and layered...." Lana Skender
