ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The idea of this work is the romance and ritualistic hype of war and violence. Why is it romantic? Why is it covered by the media in such “thrilling” detail? I am numbed by it all. What am I supposed to feel? What do they want me to feel? What are we as a collective body supposed to feel? Exposed to the relentless hyper-violence of “our” world we must escape from ourselves and such numbing scenarios with the music: pounding beats like bombs going off, the disco ball glitters us with shrapnel. As we load our guns we crank up the beat and blow it all in a dazzling ecstasy of color to cover our wounds.
