Ronnie Heeps is Scottish artist based in Glasgow. He was born in Stirling Scotland on the twenty forth of September 1958. After leaving school he worked in the foundry industry for six years before leaving to study jewellery and ceramics at Falkirk college of Technology. Since then, he has work continuously as a professional artist. Firstly as a lighting designer, where he lit bands as diverse as The Shaman, Test Department, Moby, The Orb and Nico as well as numerous clubs and large scale raves both here and abroad. He has also worked on a number of theatre projects including, "The Soul Machine" and "Sabotage" for NVA, "The Odyssey" for Stalker Teatro, and "Painful Creatures" and "Peeping at Bosch " for Mischief La-Ba. In 1996, he started to paint and in 1999 had his first solo show entitled "Where Is?" at The Gallery Forteviot in Perth. Since then, he has had ten solo shows, as well as taking part in numerous group shows both Nationally and Internationally. In 2006, he completed a painting and video installation entitled "The Raleigh Room" which is now permanently housed in Mont Orgeuil Castle on the island of Jersey. He has also creating video works for various festivals including the Glow Festival of light in Newcastle and is currently painting large-scale oil paintings based on Kaleidoscopic geometry.
