Keep cool Italy! Painting

I am a German artist. The freedom of abstract painting was appealing to me from the beginning, my first experiences with colors like seasoning with spices. I put them next to each other, on top of each other, against each other in order to get to know their character. Colors are idiosyncratic, full of surprises, never static. I find the sensual experience of the dynamics that they develop in a picture exciting. This also means that I mix my colors myself, mostly egg tempera from egg, linseed oil varnish, damar varnish and pigments. Color is alive and I want to bring it to the canvas in a powerful process - I want my pictures to exude this vitality. for a while now the old masters have been challenging me. After the great freedom of abstract painting, I allow myself a phase of painterly accuracy. The old masters' techniques fascinate me, imprimitures, glazes, white heightening, the plasticity, the depth and spatiality that I achieve with them. With this work in layers, I take up layers that occur in nature or society, make them my topic, create detailed excerpts from reality, document and interpret them.
