I was born on June 14th, 1948, in Santiago Rodriguez, Dominican Republic. I've being a fine artist for 50 years continuously. When I paint I use to be very spontaneous. I have a previous idea in my imagination and try to express it on the canvas. The work appears to be an improvisation, but it's not. Becoming this one my preferred method. I have developed this experience throughout my entire career. The materials I usually work with are: oil paint, sand, virgin beeswax ('stucco'), zinc oxide, iron oxide, and soil taken from some mountains of Dominican Republic. My artworks are inspired in superstitious, magical and religious rites which represent the Caribbean culture. I consider myself as an entirely local or national character artist, and do not consider myself artistic contaminated by any current form of universal art, of which I am very proud of . I considered myself as a natural artist, and , just as Picasso, I've always want to paint with the innocence of a child. My goal is to achieve the worldwide recognition of my artwork.
