ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is a reflection on the famous engraving of Durer Ritter, Tod und Teufel. For whom, in turn, the engraving was a reflection on the work of Erasmus of Rotterdam "Enchiridion militis Christiani". Durer saw the way to salvation in unshakable faith and steadfast pursuit of his goal - the castle on the mountain, the embodiment of Heavenly Jerusalem.
