About The Artwork

This artwork is designed to be a centrepiece of any interior, minimalist to art deco, oriental to rustic. It depicts six koi playing in a pond, one of koi being a different color from the rest of the flock. Koi Fish meaning in Japan is good fortune or luck. They also are associated with persistance in adversity and strength of purpose, the Koi fish symbolize good luck, abundance and perseverance. In feng shui koi fish neutralize bad luck and attract love and fidelity. But after all, this is a very decorative and expressive piece of art. This is a traditional sumi-e painting in black ink and red pigment on raw rice paper with silvery flakes. Includes a certificate of authenticity signed by the author.

...original artwork in ancient Oriental painting techniques... I am a true globetrotter, born in Minsk, raised in Siberia, educated in Moscow and China, and now living in Hungary. For decades I had a passion for traditional Oriental painting and now I am thrilled to share some of my art with the world. My paintings are a spiritual quest to my inner self through the simplest things of nature and everyday life, which never ceases to be an inspiration. I am a member of International Calligraphic Art & Chinese Ink Painting Artist Society. I also had numerous exhibitions in Hungary and Russia and taken part in international exhibitions in China, Japan, USA and Mexico. My artworks are created on handmade rice paper by using natural inks and pigments, just like it used to be for centuries in China and Japan. These paintings are not copies, each one is unique and handpainted by myself in my Budapest studio. Please see details of each painting for sizes and additional info. I am also taking orders, so please contact me directly if you would like me to create something specific just for you!
